# Getting WBT on legacy Whitechain L1

> How to obtain WBT on the legacy Whitechain Layer 1 network via the Telegram Funding (Faucet) Bot or by purchasing the token on the WhiteBIT exchange.

  This page documents the legacy Whitechain Layer 1 (L1), mainnet chain ID `1875`. The L1 is live and producing blocks. It is a separate chain from the Whitechain Layer 2 (L2) documented in the rest of these docs, and it migrates to the L2 at L2 Mainnet launch. There are a few ways to get $WBT token - receive some free $WBT through our Telegram Funding (Faucet) Bot, or purchase \$WBT on the WhiteBIT Exchange and send it to your self-custodial web3 wallet.

## Method #1: Telegram Funding (Faucet) Bot

### Step 1: Open the Telegram app

Open Whitechain Funding Bot, or find it manually in your Telegram app on desktop or mobile by entering "@whitechain\_funding\_bot" in the search box.

### Step 2: Click the "Start" button

Select the "Start" button inside the Telegram bot.

### Step 3: Paste your Whitechain public EVM address

Copy your Whitechain wallet address and paste it into the bot.

### Step 4: Click the "Fund My Wallet" button

Select the "Fund My Wallet" button and receive 0.01 WBT. This will be sufficient to get started and execute 10-20 transactions on Whitechain.

Note: Only one wallet per one Telegram account can be funded.

## Method #2: Purchase \$WBT on the WhiteBIT exchange

### Step 1: Go to the WhiteBIT exchange on desktop or mobile

If you don't have WBT on your balance, you can simply convert any asset to WBT using the Convert or the Spot Trading terminal.

#### Detailed instructions for Convert

1. Top up your account with crypto or fiat funds. If you are new to interaction with the Exchange - you can find detailed instructions for depositing funds in the WhiteBIT Help Center.
2. Convert your crypto or fiat funds to WBT easily using the Convert tool.

2.1 Choose your asset in the "Give" section.

2.2 In the "Receive" section, choose "WBT".

2.3 Write how much you want to give or how many WBTs you wish to receive. You can use the "Use Max" button to convert all assets.

2.4 Select "Buy WhiteBIT Coin". You will see a pop-up to confirm the convert operation.

2.5 After confirming the convert operation, your WBTs are already on your Main balance.

### Step 2: Withdraw \$WBT

Detailed instructions for \$WBT withdrawal:

1. On the Balance page, find WBT and select "Withdraw". You are redirected to the Withdrawal page.

2. In the "Network" section, choose the Whitechain option.

3. Fill in the Amount and the Address fields. Paste your wallet's address in the Address field.

Make sure you use your own wallet address. Double-check the value before continuing.

4. Select the "Continue" button. You will see the confirmation pop-up. Enter your verification code sent to your email and 2FA code (if enabled).

5. After confirming, you will see the pop-up with your withdrawal details.

Your WBTs will be in your wallet in a few minutes.

To see your WBTs in your wallet, make sure you have added Whitechain to your wallet, and that it is currently chosen in the networks list. You can read how to add Whitechain in the Wallet Configuration section.
