# Legacy Whitechain L1 wallet configuration

> How to connect an Ethereum-compatible wallet to the legacy Whitechain L1 mainnet and testnet, and how its hostnames change at L2 Mainnet launch.

<Note>
This page documents the legacy Whitechain Layer 1 (L1): mainnet chain ID `1875` and testnet chain ID `2625`. Both are live and producing blocks. They are separate chains from the Whitechain Layer 2 (L2) documented in the rest of these docs, and the L1 mainnet migrates to the L2 at L2 Mainnet launch. To connect a wallet to the L2, see [Connect to Whitechain Sepolia](/learn/get-started/connect-wallet).
</Note>

Learn how to use any Ethereum-compatible wallet to send and receive WBT and interact with the legacy Whitechain L1.

## Add Whitechain to your wallet automatically: Method #1

To use this method, you need an active wallet extension in your web browser.

To add Whitechain to your wallet automatically:

1. Open Explorer or navigate to the website.
2. Click the "Add Whitechain RPC" button in the top right of the website or bottom right of Explorer.
3. Select "Whitechain" and your wallet application.
4. Confirm the connection.
5. Once confirmed, you're done.

You can verify a successful wallet connection by checking that your address displays on the "Add Whitechain RPC" button.

If this method doesn't work, use the manual method below.

## Add Whitechain to your wallet automatically: Method #2

Use the official site listing EVM-powered networks:

1. Open Chainlist.org.
2. Search for "WhiteBIT" or "WB".
3. When results appear, click "Connect Wallet".
4. You'll be redirected to your wallet application to confirm the connection.
5. Once confirmed, you're finished.

## Add Whitechain to your wallet manually: Method #3

To add Whitechain manually:

1. Open your wallet application and find the network configuration in Settings.
2. Find the "Add Network" or "Add Network Manually" option.
3. Enter the following data into the form.

### Mainnet configuration

These are the L1 mainnet values in effect today. The RPC and explorer hostnames change at L2 Mainnet launch, as described in [Hostname changes at L2 Mainnet launch](#hostname-changes-at-l2-mainnet-launch).

| Parameter | Value |
| ------------------ | -------------------------------- |
| Network name | Whitechain |
| New RPC URL | `https://rpc.whitechain.io` |
| Chain ID | `1875` |
| Chain ID in hex | `0x753` |
| Currency symbol | WBT |
| Block explorer URL | `https://explorer.whitechain.io` |

If your wallet doesn't recognize the decimal chain ID, enter the hex form `0x753` instead.

### Testnet configuration

| Parameter | Value |
| ------------------ | ----------------------------------- |
| Network name | Whitechain Testnet |
| New RPC URL | `https://rpc-testnet.whitechain.io` |
| Chain ID | `2625` |
| Chain ID in hex | `0xa41` |
| Currency symbol | WBT |
| Block explorer URL | `https://testnet.whitechain.io` |

If your wallet doesn't recognize the decimal chain ID, enter the hex form `0xa41` instead.

You can now view WBT and other tokens in your wallet.

## Hostname changes at L2 Mainnet launch

The mainnet values above are the values in effect today. At L2 Mainnet launch, `rpc.whitechain.io` and `explorer.whitechain.io` begin serving the Whitechain L2, and the legacy L1 services move to `legacy` hostnames.

| Service | Hostname today | Hostname after L2 Mainnet launch |
| ------------------- | -------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| L1 mainnet JSON-RPC | `https://rpc.whitechain.io` | Legacy read-only RPC hostname, published in the [Network reference](/learn/network/reference) before Mainnet launch |
| L1 mainnet explorer | `https://explorer.whitechain.io` | `https://legacy-explorer.whitechain.io` |
| L1 website | `https://whitechain.io` | `https://legacy.whitechain.io` |

A wallet still configured with `https://rpc.whitechain.io` after that point is connected to the L2, at a different chain ID. Confirm which chain an endpoint serves by calling `eth_chainId`: the legacy L1 mainnet reports `0x753`, chain ID `1875`. The L1 testnet endpoints do not change, because the L1 testnet is not migrated. See [Endpoint and domain changes](/learn/general/migration#endpoint-and-domain-changes).
